Daniel, get a brain. When the poor people and middle class need nearly EVERY SINGLE DIME that they earn to keep their mediocre lifestyle in the latter case or JUST TO SURVIVE in the former case? No, they damned well should NOT pay anything in income tax!

I would rather they arrested Bush for getting us into this craphole in the first place, and put him on the nearest gallows, along with Cheney and a few other Republicans.

Unjustly, Darryl. Why? Because 99% of even the 'highly technical' jobs out there are learn on the job type things, where a degree does not prove jack about you being able to do the job, since you actually have to be taught how to do the job.

BULL! We have plenty of money left, if we do only two things: allow the Bush tax cuts to end AND reform the tax code so that companies like GE have to pay AT LEAST 15% in taxes a year, period.

Again.... the ONLY thing we need to do in order to fix the government red ink is to allow the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy to expire AND reform the tax code so that companies like GE cannot get out of paying taxes on money made in America.

vol fan, stop with the bullcrap that "half the people in the country pay no taxes". Half the people in the country pay no FEDERAL INCOME TAX or STATE INCOME TAX. They are still paying a hell of a lot of fees and sales tax.

That is the problem, the tax incentives being given to companies and then they either hold the locality/city/state over a barrel for more incentives or move when they tell them "No!" That can only be stopped however by the states banding together and deciding on one national state tax rate.
